Hydraulic top plate, innovation for ceramics
Upper plates
Precision and innovation in ceramics
Upper plates are a key component in ceramic innovation, as they enable stability, modularity, and control in ceramic pressing. There are currently three types: magnetic, electro-permanent and isostaticEach has been developed to respond to different production challenges. At Cortés, we transform our experience and research into high-performance plates adapted to market demands. Our goal is to offer versatile solutions that strengthen competitiveness and bring real value to the tile industry.
Upper plates
magnetic
The magnetic plate holds the upper punches in place using magnetism. This hold is only maintained as long as there is an uninterrupted flow of current. As soon as this electrical flow is interrupted, the magnetism ceases to act and, consequently, the punches fall as the plate becomes demagnetized.
Upper plates
electro-permanent
The permanent upper electromagnets prevent the risk of accidental falls of the upper punches since once magnetized, they remain in that state even if electrical current flow is interrupted. This type of plate only needs electrical current to change its state (magnetized/non-magnetized) using the electrical control panel.
Greater safety at work
Top plates
isostatic
Talleres Cortés has begun manufacturing the second generation of isostatic upper plates, which are now available for sale. This project continues one of Cortés' most important products. In addition to having the characteristics of the electro-permanent plate, this type of plate offers the following advantages:
Homogeneity during the pressing process between the different cavities
